Deiiang Medium Filters are used in commercial HVAC systems, as well as in cleanrooms that require more than basic prefiltration prior to the HEPA filtration. These filters are designed to remove moderate size particles including dust, pollen, fibers, and process dust.
Standardized Medium Depth pleated, bag, box, and V-bank filter designs in many common sizes and MERV 8-13 / F5-F9 grades are available for HVAC Contractors and HVAC OEMs, allowing for simple selection, energy control and even better fleet average.
Our professional team delivers one-stop, customized medium filter solutions to match your systems, media, and performance requirements.

A pleated air filter is the typical medium filter you see in many HVAC systems. It looks like a flat panel with V‑shaped pleats, and is best for offices, malls, schools, and light‑duty industrial areas. This is our “everyday medium filter” used as an air HVAC filter. Medium efficiency bag filters (pocket filters) are often made up of many deep pockets, literally long “bags” or “pockets” suspended from a frame. This makes for an excellent heavy‑duty medium filter in cleanroom air handling units, hospitals and heavily polluted industrial processes, allowing for extended filter life and very high filter loading.
Overview: A pleated air filter is a typical medium filter used in many HVAC applications and is widely chosen as an everyday HVAC air filter.
Looks like: This model comes as a flat panel built with V-style pleats.
Best for: Offices, malls, schools, light‑duty industrial areas.
Strengths: It is small enough to store in a bag and has a good price/performance ratio, making it a good everyday medium filter for most general HVAC applications.
Overview: A medium efficiency bag filter (pocket filter) has several deep fabric pockets hanging down, forming multiple elongated bag sections.
Looks like: Composed of several elongated filter bag sections arranged in rows.
Best for: Air handling units for cleanrooms, hospitals and industrial plants with a lot of dust.
Strengths: Very high dust holding capacity, long service life and stable performance at high air volume, making it an extremely robust medium‑efficiency filter for long life at high load.
Medium Filter acts as the middle filtration section in HVAC setups. designed to pick up medium size particles of dust, pollen, and even pet hair. A good price for good filtration. The Medium Filter is used as a pre-filter to your HEPA filter, in order to take as much of a load off of the fine filters as possible.
The rate at which a Medium Filter wears out is influenced by the amount of dust in the air and how many hours per day that the unit runs. Typically, Medium Filters last for 3 to 6 months before they need to be replaced. A clogged filter causes additional air resistance that is wasted in fan power and can also cause damage to your entire ventilation system.
There is no unified universal standard, and Deiiang supports customized sizes. To find the matching dimensions, you can directly look at the old filter, whose surface will be printed with markings for length, width, and thickness, which avoids errors caused by measurement.
HEPA filters have a 99.97% rejection rate for particles with a diameter of 0.3μm, while medium filters can only intercept larger particles of 1~5μm. Therefore, medium filters are suitable for general ventilation where cleanliness requirements are not high, while HEPA filters are the opposite.
Local hardware shops, building suppliers and online marketplaces all carry this product. Deiiang™ provides full-size Medium Filters that fit nearly all industrial and commercial HVAC machines, plus one-on-one model matching guidance.
How to Choose Medium Filters
Define the system and location
Decide where to place the Medium Filter first (Medium Filter is intended to be used in normal AHU’s in the mid-position of the airflow stream). The position of the Medium Filter will determine the size and depth of the filter as well as its form (pleated, bag, box or V-bank form).
Set the efficiency level (MERV / EN grade)
Choosing the best grade of air filter for your application.
General Commercial: MERV 8 – 11 / F5 – F7.
Medical, pharma and electronic facilities (use ahead of HEPA air cleaning): MERV 11–13 / F7–F9.
Check airflow and pressure drop limits
The fan has a specific air delivery capacity, so the airflow resistance of the medium-efficiency filter must match the fan's performance. Available options include pleated panel, bag, and V-bank filters; selecting the appropriate type helps prevent fan overload and insufficient airflow.
Consider dust load and service interval
Medium efficiency bag filters or V-bank medium filters are often used for applications where there is a large amount of dust present or where 24/7 operation is required. These types of filters have a large effective filter area and high dust holding capacity. Medium efficiency pleated air filters on the other hand are compact in design and are ideal for situations where space is a problem.
Confirm frame, media, and environment
Deiiang sorts pleated, bag and V-bank Medium Filter for preventing fan overload or loss of airflow.
